Medea Benjamin is a cofounder of the anti-war feminist organization Codepink and a co-founder of the international human rights organization Global Exchange. For the past 20 years she has been been one of our nation's most high profile leaders and advocate in the movement for humanitarian, civil and social justice. In 2005 she was among other exemplary women nominated to receive a collective Peace Prize for their efforts to promote peace. She has been at the forefront of protesting the war efforts of Bush and Obama and now the further escalation of violence under Trump. In the past, Medea has organized humanitarian aid for war refugees in Lebanon and organized daily protests when Obama was stayed in Israel during Operation Cast Lead against Gaza and was a leading organizer of the Gaza Freedom March in Cairo. In 2011 she sailed on the US peace flotilla to Gaza and led delegations to deliver medical supplies during Israel’s Pillar of Defense campaign. Dr. Eric Rignot is the Chancellor Professor of Earth System Science at the University of California at Irvine's School of Physical Science and the principal scientist for the Radar Science and Engineering Section at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. He has specialized in the mass balance of the Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets, the interactions between ice shelves and ocean systems, ice sheet modeling, and climate change. His research group focuses on understanding the interactions between ice sheets, glaciers and climate, and the future of sea level change from melting ice sheets. He was a lead author of the IPCC FifthAssessment report in 2014 on climate change and has published numerous papers in peer-reviewed science publications. Eric holds a doctorate in engineering from the University of South California and masters degrees in astrophysics and aerospace engineering from the University of Paris and USC respectively.
James and Joanne Moriarty were a successful business couple living in Libya from 2007 until the overthrow and death of General Muammar Ghadafi in 2011. While in Libya, their business provided enzymes to rejuvenate oil wells and clean up sludge pits earning $5 billion. It was while building a manufacturing facility in Libya that the revolution began and NATO invaded. During the rioting and collapse of the Ghadafi government and the new rule of radical Islamic factions, the Moriarty’s and other foreigners attempting to leave on a rescue ship were captured and held by al-Qaeda-related militias, then eventually released. They have produced a video of their ordeal – Escape from Al-Qaeda, which includes evidence of the US and its allies planning of a forced coup well in advance. Dr. Ramzy Baroud is an US-Arab journalist and author and an internationally recognized syndicated columnist on geopolitics and Middle East issues. Eric Walberg -- who has been on this program -- has called Dr. Baroud “one of the best emissaries of Palestinians.” He is currently the editor for the Palestine Chronicle. Earlier he was the managing editor of the London-based Middle East Eye, the editor in chief of the Brunei Times and deputy managing editor of Al Jazeera’s online publication. He is also a former head of Al Jazeera English’s Research department. Ramzy holds a doctoral degree in Palestine Studies from the University of Exeter in the UK. The global dimensions of FDR's New Deal and its impact upon America's role in the world today
Professor Kiran Klaus Patel is the Jean Monnet Professor European and Global History at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. He is also a fellow at the Royal Historial Society and has specialized in the history of President Roosevelt's New Deal, the Great Depression and the history of labor in Nazi Germany. He received his degrees in history from the University of Freiburg and at Humboldt University in Berlin Germany. he has published important studies on labor in Nazi Germany and New Deal America, and his most recent book -- "The New Deal: A Global History" has been recognized as a tour de force volume on a little known aspect of the New Deal's international impact.

Guest 3: Charles Ortleb is a journalist, novelist and filmmaker who gained notoriety as the publisher of the gay biweekly New York Native between 1980 and 1996. The Native was the first major publication to take the AIDS epidemic seriously and question the AIDS hypothesis. the publication brought many important individuals such as Peter Duesberg to public attention. Rolling Stone journalist David Black claimed Chuck's New York Native deserved a Pulitzer and New York Times called in "visionary." Chuck has also written several novels, plays. Celia Farber has called his novel Iron Peter, the "animal farm of the AIDS era."
