Today's guest is Professor Paul Epstein and he is a medical physician trained in tropical public health and a director at the Center for Health and the Global Environment at Harvard Medical School. He has worked extensively in Africa, Asia and Latin America and oversaw the special 8 part series on health climate change published by the Lancet journal. He works closed with the International Panel on Climate Change, the National Academy of Sciences, NASA, the UNDP, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in forecasting the health impacts of global warming and tipping points due to climate change. He is the author of many professional papers and his most recent book “Changing Planet, Changing Health: How the Climate Crisis Threatens Our Health & What We Can Do About It ” from the University of California Press, which is perhaps the first book to outline the relationship between climate change and health for the general public.
