Today's guest is Chris Hedges and he is one of our nation’s most insightful cultural critics and author. For almost 20 years he was a foreign correspondent in Central America, the Middle East, Africa and the Balkans for such news media as The New York Times (for 15 of those years), Christian Science Monitor and National Public Radio. While at the Times, Chris and team received the 2002 Pulitzer Prize for their reportage on global terrorism. The same year he received Amnesty International’s Global Award for Human Rights Journalism. Chris writes a weekly column for the award winning political blog TruthDig.com and has authored six major books, his most recent being “The Death of the Liberal Class” from Nation Books.
