Professor Joel Kotkin is a distinguished professor and fellow of urban studies at Chapman University in California and an internationally recognized authority on global, economic, political and social trends. He is also the executive director of the Center for Opportunity Urbanism in Houston and executive director of New Geography.com  Prof. Kotkin has written many books on urban history, renewal and the changes in the world’s future demography, and composed the 2010 international study on the new world order for the Legatum Institute in London.  His articles have appeared on many news sites, both mainstream and alternative, and he is a regular contributor to the Daily Beast.  His most recent book is “The New Class Conflict” about the causes of the demise of the middle class.
