Today's guest is Dr. Amory Lovins and he is considered by many to be the world’s leading authority on energy – particularly sustainable energy and renewable innovation. He is currently the Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Scientist of the Rocky Mountain Institute in Aspen Colorado, Since studying at Harvard and Oxford, he has received 11 honorary doctorates from American and British universities, and has taught at the Universities of California and Colorado, at Dartmouth, Stanford and Peking University in China. Amory has been a recipient of the Right Livelihood Award, the alternative Nobel Prize. He was one of the primary inventors of the ultralight hybrid cars back in the early 1990s. He has won numerous awards as a leader in environmental thought and leadership, including Time’s Hero of the Planet Award. Dr. Lovins has written over 20 books. His 2000 book “Natural Capitalism: Creating the Next Industrial Revolution” has become a classic for describing how the global economy is dependent upon natural resources and the ecosystem and therefore challenges true sustainability.
