The Gary Null Show - 3/6/12

William Broad is a senior writer and science journalist at the New York Times, where he has been since 1983, who has shared two Pulitzer Prizes for reporting on the Star Wars missile program and the Challenger space shuttle disaster, and has received both an Emmy and a Columbia University Dupont award. He has a graduate degree in the history of science from the University of Wisconsin and was a former reporter for Science magazine.

Bill has also been a very serious life long practitioner of yoga, having studied and practiced it for forty years.  His recent book – The Science of Yoga: The Risks and Rewards – is thorough investigation in the science and research performed over the years into the ancient form of mind-body health, both in the west and in India. It has been a very controversial work, having upset much of the American yoga community for deconstructing some of yoga’s health claims, while also supporting with scientific data other benefits to health and mental well-being.
