Dr Amitav Ghosh is an international renowned novelist His recent book who has received numerous awards, including the Arthur C Clark Award, the International Book Award, the Booker Prize, the india Gold Quill Award and others. Among is more famous novels are The Glass Palace and the Ibis Trilogy: Sea of Poppies, River of Smoke, and Flood of Fire. Born in Calcutta and raised in India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka, his work has been translated into over 20 languages and he has taught comparative literature at many universities including Columbia and Harvard. He holds a doctorate in comparative literature from Oxford University and has received honorary doctorates from Queen's College and the Sorbonne in Paris.
