Kathleen McClellan is the National Security and Human Rights counsel for the Government Accountability Project in Washington DC, where she supports and represents whistleblowers from the national security and intelligence communities. Over the years she has worked with whistleblowers from the National Security Agency, the CIA, and the departments of Defense and Homeland Security. These cases involved such issues as torture, surveillance, excessive secrecy and political discrimination. Kathleen is currently representing former National Security Agency official Thomas Drake, who had reported on the waste and abuse within this agency he was employed at. In the past she worked at the ACLU legislative office, one effort being reform of the Patriot Act. Kathleen holds a JD from the University of Wisconsin Law school and graduated magna cum laude from St. Mary’s College in Maryland. www.whistleblower.org
