Alissa Quart is the Executive Editor of the Economic Hardship Reporting Project -- a non profit journalism project dedicated to reporting on inequality. Her essays have appeared in the New York Times, The Atlantic, New York Review of Books, Elle and other publications. Alissa writes a bi-monthly column in The Guardian call Outclassed.  She is a graduate of Columbia University's School of Journalism, was a Nieman fellow at Harvard, and has taught at SUNY New Paltz and Columbia. She has received the LA Press Club Award and was nominated for the National Magazine Award.
