Mindful meditate your passion back. Psychiatrists traditionally have patients lie on a couch, a practice originating from psychoanalysis, to promote relaxation and reduce social self-consciousness, allowing for deeper and freer association of thoughts and feelings. Lying down can decrease defensiveness, making patients more open to exploring difficult topics without being distracted by or reacting to the therapist’s facial expressions or body language.
