Professor Lawrence Lessig is the Director of the Edmond Safra Foundation for Ethics at Harvard University and a professor of law at the Harvard Law School. In the past he has been on the faculties of Stanford’s and the University of Chicago’s law schools, and clerked for the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals and for Justice Scalia on the US Supreme Court.  Prof. Lessig has specialized in law and technology and now more diligently on institutional corruption in government and particularly Congress and how this has weakened democracy.
He has won numerous awards and was named by Scientific America as one of our top 50 visionaries. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Philosophical Society and serves on the boards of many organizations.
His most recent book just released is “Republic Lost: How Money Corrupts Congress and a Plan to Stop It” which looks at the fundamental systemic problem in our political system which has permitted corruption to thrive and disempower the American people.
