As the co-founder and President of the Gorbachev Foundation, he was instrumental in the founding of the State of the World Forum in 1995, which generated a global network of leaders and visionaries from all walks of life to define a template for a more sustainable global civilization. in 2000, he initiated the launch of the Commission on Globalization which challenged the existing global governance system and gathered diverse stakeholders and scholars together to identify and design variable alternatives. Jim has graduate degrees in religion and theology from Harvard and Cambridge universities. His first book in 1980 was "The Plutonium Culture" and later most recent publications are "Civilization and the Transformation of Power" and "America as Empire: Global Leader or Rogue Nation" Dr. Paul Ray is widely acknowledged by many in the progressive community as a leading visionary and futurist exploring the future of human civilization. He is the founding director of the Institute of the Emerging Wisdom Culture at Wisdom University. Formerly Dr. Ray was a former executive of American Lives Inc., a market research and opinion firm specializing in analysis of lifestyles, values and expectations in American society and was a chief policy research on energy conservation for the Department of Energy, mines and resources for the canadian government. Over the past 30 years, Dr. Ray spearheaded research and consultations for over 100 projects. After surveying over 100,000 Americans dring a 13 year period, he identified an emerging subculture permeating much of the American society that are known as Cultural Creatives, which is the title of his book: "The Cultural Creatives: How 50 Million People Are Changing the World."
